Cowboy Wisdom
from Cowboy Coach Doug Butler

Cowboy Coach Doug Butler has ridden the range of experience as a cowboy, an award-winning farrier, and an accomplished trainer of horses and people. He has spoken to groups in 45 U.S. states, 9 Canadian provinces, and 9 countries around the globe.

Doug helps people forge firm foundations that they can live by. Through helping others create their own "Cowboy Code", or constitution of character, he's able to make them become heroes in their own circles of influence.

And Doug has earned his spurs in "rearing" children. He and his wife Marsha have seven children, now grown and bringing up children of their own.

How would you compare training horses with raising children, supervising employees, and running organizations? How can you apply the "horse sense" of cowboy legends like Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans to our 21st Century challenges?

Doug Butler does exactly that in his program Ridin' the Trail with The Cowboy Code. He shares sage advice gathered through the trials of living. His poignant stories and dazzling showmanship not only touch your heart; they help you forge a firm foundation for your life … and for the lives of those you love.

"Doug's program is a slice of Americana that we don't see much these days. He cleverly intertwines folk wisdom with entertaining rope tricks we've seen in movies. This talk would remind baby boomers of their ole TV favorites Hopalong, Roy, and, of course, Trigger, but still with a 'today' message for everyone. Very enjoyable"

Doug strongly believes that leadership based on character is developed by building respect and trust at home and at work. Strong relationships with horses or people are based on communicating expectations and establishing habits. By creating and adopting a constitution of character like the Cowboy Code, we can get the results we want to achieve in life.
